Miranda Kerr
Miranda Kerr, the newest Victoria’s Secret Angel, is an Australian fashion model. She is currently based in New York City. She is best known for her campaigns with Victoria’s Secret and Maybelline, as well as for being the face of Australian fashion chain-store Portmans.
Biography
Miranda was born on February 20, 1983. She was raised in the Australian rural town of Gunnedah. She has a younger brother named Matt. Kerr began modeling at age 13 after winning the 
Dolly/Impulse Modeling Competition in 1997. This win sparked significant media attention and controversy over her age and maturity, and the matter of paedophilia and child pornography. Kerr dismissed these claims in an interview, stating “They were blowing out [sic] of proportion. In the media at the time they were trying to cling on to anything remotely to do with paedophilia. Dolly is a magazine for teenage girls, not for old men. And I was fully clothed! Doing a winter shoot! They just made something out of nothing.”
Modeling Career
Kerr was described by one fashionista as having an Audrey Hepburn and a “hyper-feminine” look. Her success as a model has been phenomenal and, as a result, she now appears at high profile fashion shows, while also gaining coverage in various campaigns.
To this point, Miranda’s career has consisted of catwalks, fashion and beauty shoots, as well as TV and magazine advertising campaigns. She has modeled for Maybeline New York, Levis, Portmans, Jets, Blumarine Swimwear, John Richmond, Lisa Ho, Veet, Bonds, Peter Alexander, Elle, Harpers Baazar, Italian Glamour, Oyster, Squint and Australian Vogue as well as walked for big fashion designers such as Anna Mollinari, Just Cavalli, BabyPhat, Enrico Coveri, Amuleti J, Cia Maritima, Betsey Johnson, Nicola Finetti, Betsy Liano, John Richmond, L.A.M.B and many more.
In the second season of Project Runway, she modelled for Daniel Vosovic at Fashion week.
She is also a model for Victoria’s Secret and in 2005 she was the first ever Australian model to appear in a Victoria’s Secret runway show.
Music videos
Miranda appears in the Pharrell and Kanye West music video “Number 1″. She also stars in her boyfriend’s debut music video “Everything to Me” for his band Tamarama, which is available to be viewed on youTube.

Miranda is the spokesperson for Noni Juice. She says, “It’s what I put in the inside so I glow on the outside”.
Personal Life
She was recently linked to Hollywood star Orlando Bloom, but this turned out to be a publicity stunt set up by the developers of the Atelier building on West 42nd Street in New York City. The Atelier corportaion have also offered celebrities such as Lindsay Lohan free use of their apartments to generate buzz around the development.
Kerr is currently dating Australian musician and Storm model Brent Tuhtan, who is in a band called Tamarama and recently scored an international Diesel jeans campaign.
The couple live in Miranda’s $1 million dollar New York City uptown apartment.
Miranda Kerr’s ex boyfriend Adrian Camilleri recently hit the Australian headlines after pleading guilty to five counts of fraud. He faces up to five years in jail. According to an Australian news site, friends of Kerr say that she lost some of her own million-dollar earnings due to Camilleri’s bad financial advice throughout the 18-months that she dated him. “Her parents disapproved of him. It was an extremely traumatic time,” a Kerr family friend revealed.

Miranda is beautiful, but I am prettier, but am little more overweight than her and I can’t land a modeling job. I think that Victoria’s Secret needs to accept models in larger sizes, but not quite plus yet, instead of teensy girls.

I know what you mean. I too am a plus-sized model. I’m a size fifteen. And I’ve desperately wanted to become a supermodel. It is sad to see a world with girls that are soo skinny to become supermodels. Society should accept people of all ages and sizes.

Victorias Secret Models are absolutely gorgeous, but larger girls, in the 10-14 pant size range are just as gorgeous. Beautiful women don’t just come in size 0 or 4. They come in all shapes and sizes.

Why would anyone want to see a size 10-14 model? America should definitely promote smaller sizes and discourage the overweight population. The VS models are beautiful and healthy, and more people should strive to have bodies as toned and in-shape as theirs.

By far the prettiest model I’ve seen, is Miranda. I was lucky enough to meet her whilst at the 2007 VSFS at the Kodak. I’m an aussie and I was working at the fashion show. We did the pyro stuff. She was totally cool. I noticed the accent and asked if she could sign an autograph for my daughter “Sydney” (she’s 6) and Miranda happily obliged. There ARE modeling opportunities for size 12+. Get going if you want to make it happen! Don’t get discouraged when someone looking for a size 4 model asks you to lose some weight! (And trade that bag or box of processed carbohydrates you like to eat for a glass of water!)
Miranda kerr is one person, she is an individual, everyone should respect the fact that she has feelings and that not everyone can be models, the ppl who make it, go thru alot to be where they are or to get where they get. sure its a fact that overweight ppl are just as beautiful as models but take into consideration that modelling is only one aspect of fame and beauty. Because Miranda, and the other models in Victoria’s Secrets are thinner, is simply because they are in shape. It’s that simple.
Victoria’s Secret doesn’t have to make allowances for weight issues. In effect, they are condoning people to be more in shape. Have You perused the clothing line? It’s all quite athletic in it’s focus.
Because some women aren’t born with genes allowing them the same looks is no reason to covet, be jealous, nor hateful to those more fortunate… If you are overweight, get in shape and then berate these ladies who work diligently for what You see, the comments will not be the same I’m sure.
Miranda Kerr, and the other Victoria’s Secret models are beautiful, just the way they are. VS does not have to make allowance for those with “weight issues”. In fact, if you look at the clothing line of VS; they actually are very health minded, and sell athletic focused clothing/outfits. You shouldn’t feel bad about not being able to wear it, instead be doing something about it.
They also do not bother listening to the complaints of other women who do not take initiative to get in shape; nor should They. If you aren’t genetically gifted, that’s just who You are, work with what You have… There’s a right place for everyone.
These models work very hard to stay in shape, and under most circumstances work out vigorously. If you are overweight (as the higher percentage of America is), You should consider doing the same. Yes, get off the lazy train and do something about it, instead of coveting, obsessing on, and otherwise blindly berating the people that do.

I saw pics from 2 days ago of her in NY she has lost too much weight and is the skinniest I ever saw her in all honesty, her arms look disgusting. Miranda is BEAUTIFUL.. and you can totally tell that she works out.. if you don’t believe it look up all those “suicide girls” or whatever they’re called. They don’t work out and they’re all soft and squishy looking. She’s a beautiful person and all the fat people here need to stop hating on that. All this talk about size 12 being the average size is so not true.. I am almost considered OBESE for my height and I’m still only a size 9 in juniors. I’m 5′3″ and weigh 160 pounds after having a kid and I’m still not that big. Seriously, everywhere that I looked the average size of the american woman is 5′4″ and 140 pounds.. that’s so not a size 12. I don’t agree with most of the plus size models. Some of them on TV really don’t look healthy. I admit though, when they’re up there like 5′10″ 5′11″ it’s totally okay to be a size 12. The taller you are the more you should weigh and the bigger you should be. Equally, I don’t think the victorias secret models are healthy. Miranda Kerr is probably barely over 100 pounds.. maybe 110. I don’t believe everyone saying she’s 130 pounds because she’s not. I looked up some models and they really do only weigh 110-115 pounds. I don’t think you should be able to see the ripples in a grown woman’s sternum above her breasts. So I think she’s a beautiful woman but she might want to gain a little bit more weight. And with VS, they can’t have models that big. Most of their really pretty lingerie doesn’t come in sizes that big. Most of the balconette bras and stuff only come in sizes below a D.. and I don’t think most of the plus size models would fit in them. I don’t. My boobs are too big, but I’m okay with that. It’s not like I can’t buy my clothes some where else.
People need to just let people do their own thing. Miranda might be a bit skinny, plus size models might be a bit fat. The average american woman falls somewhere in between.
I think the best thing for everyone is if they just started using REALLY normal sized models. 5′4″ 140 pounds, maybe a little less.
This is not hilarious, it’s real. I used to weigh 185 lbs. and I seriously obsessed with the way VS models look. They are gorgeous and have beautiful bodies, but let’s get serious. These women are not your average size. They’re size 2-4. Now if you’re frame is built for that, congratulations, but if not, being that thin is not even healthy. I now weigh 126 lbs. and sometimes feel that I look too thin. While I don’t think that it’s VS’s job to embrace thicker women, I do think it’s our job not to shun those who are overweight. Everyone should strive live healthy lifestyles, including thin people. We need not to be so body-conscious and more health conscious. You can have a nicely shaped plus-size body. Let us not forget that there are plus size models. Take a look inside of a Lane Bryant catalog. So instead of telling people they should get off their “fat ass” and do something about their situation, understand where they’re coming from. They shouldn’t HAVE to.
